Full builds

Over the course of our brief history, the demand for our products and services has grown at an exceptional rate. Much to our surprise, we were asked to start building full SC Relics guitars….. so we did.

Not wanting to compromise on quality our mission was to build premium nitro finished guitars that only got better with age and that is exactly what we are doing. Due to our boutique approach to the business you can be assured that we dont stop thinking about and perfecting your new guitar until it is in its case for shipping.

We have, since the start, favoured our UK based suppliers, friends and fellow specialists to help us create the guitars you see below. Working closely with these brands means we can deliver you an instrument that looks, feels and sounds like a guitar that will never leave your collection. Due to the nature of the finishing process, you will also have a guitar that, in 20 years time, will also look, feel and sound 20+ years old. We fully dress and wear in our necks for that vintage vibe and our nitro is sprayed thin to age quickly.

Our specs include…

  • Ash or alder bodies

Being a fan of relic guitars I found Scott through social media (ThorpyFB page I think??) His finishes stood out as superior to me, and having had a guitar in mind for a while I decided he would be perfect to build it especially as he’s in the UK. Scott kindly delivered guitar to me 30 mins before going on stage, guitar was light resonant and set up really well so I played it immediately at gig. It’s been part of the set ever since (10 days ago) Scott’s choice of hardware and pickups is top notch. You can tell just from emails he knows what makes a great guitar. This one will see 548,000 people between its first outing at the start of May and June 8th 2019 (Take That tour). It’s also the prettiest guitar I own.

Adam Evans (Rick Astley and Nick Kershaw band)

The guitar is amazing, it has vintage look and feel, but with modern playability. Its light, resonant, with amazing sustain. The light relic finish is impeccable, with a particularly gorgeous caramel tint to the back of the neck. An absolute stunner of an instrument! Scott was also a pleasure to deal with through the whole build process. I can’t recommend him highly enough! – Paul

This build started when I picked up some Mojo pickups which were original destined for something else. I soon realised they would be wasted on that and my attention turned to finding a decent JM to put them in. I’ve always loved aged guitars and quickly found SC Relics. Scott was super helpful from the outset and guided me on every aspect of the build.  He sourced a fantastic quality neck and body which is weighted perfectly and feels so good. The finish is just incredible. Plenty of subtle checking and some nice aging and play marks. Scott even aged the tweed case to send her home in which just suits the guitar so well. I ended up with my dream guitar at an incredibly reasonable price given the quality of the build and finish. I can’t speak highly enough of Scott’s work and im already talking to him about another build. – Nick
“The guitar looks and plays spot on, couldn’t be happier with it. Thanks for all your work on it – it’s a great job!” – John

My SC Relics Paisley guitar is a work of art. I could spend as long looking at it as I do playing it! Fortunately it is also stunning to play. Since receiving the guitar it has become my go to for gigs (and I have many to choose from). It feels great in the hands. The neck feels like I’ve been playing it for years. Tonally, it is full sounding and beautifully balanced. Having this guitar made by SC Relics was a great experience and well worth it. This is exactly the guitar I wanted, and more. – Chris
